Ohio’s Energy Policies Today Determine State’s Future

CHICAGO (September 30, 2015) – The Ohio Energy Mandates Study Committee released a highly anticipated report today outlining their recommendations on the fate of Ohio’s renewable energy and energy efficiency polices.

Following is a comment from Samantha Williams, attorney and energy policy advocate at the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“Ohio was once a clean energy trailblazer but the freeze imposed by SB 310 stalled the state’s momentum. Any policies that block progress to regain Ohio’s leadership will only grow the mountain of missed opportunities and keep the state lagging behind its neighbors that are moving forward with clean energy to create jobs, boost their economy and protect public health. The evidence all points in one direction - we need to reinstate the clean energy standards as soon as possible.”
