NRDC Proposes a Responsible Energy Policy for the 21st Century:
Group’s experts will show that America can meet its energy needs, save consumers billions of dollars annually, and protect the environment

Drilling in the Arctic Refuge won’t bring energy independence,
But there are steps America can take as part of long-range plan

NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) will unveil an innovative new plan for U.S. energy policy that will meet the nation’s needs and save consumers billions of dollars annually without destroying pristine wilderness areas or rolling back environmental safeguards.

Among other things, NRDC experts will explain why the Bush administration’s proposal to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge makes no sense from an economic, energy or environmental perspective; and how we can solve the current California electricity crisis without undermining state or federal air quality standards.
