Vought Would Bring Chaos and Cruelty to OMB

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Senate is set to vote on whether to confirm Russell Vought, the chief architect of Project 2025, to lead the White House Office of Management and Budget.

The following is a statement from Alexandra Adams, chief policy advocacy officer at NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council):

“Millions of people across the nation have already begun to experience the devastating impacts from the initial implementation of the Project 2025 game plan. Whether it was the abrupt halt of efforts to bring clean, affordable electricity to communities nationwide or moving to eliminate consideration of the climate impacts of new highway projects, these efforts would raise consumers energy costs, throw workers out of jobs and drive up harmful pollution.

“Before Russell Vought, the chief architect of Project 2025, can further enact this damaging plan, his nomination should be rejected by the Senate.

“Vought’s stated goals include usurping Congress’s constitutional power over federal spending, slashing the professional civil service, and cutting the budgets of agencies Congress charged with carrying out our laws. He has demonstrated extreme disregard for our public health, safety, and environmental laws.

“Vought has shown through his actions in office before and his activities since the many reasons why the Senate should deny him another term as OMB director.”
