Gavin McCabe

Senior Litigating Counsel

Gavin McCabe has worked on cases in federal and state courts across the country involving climate change, federal and state air quality issues, water quality and water rights, pesticides and toxic substances, natural resource damages, and endangered species. Prior to joining NRDC, McCabe worked for over twenty years for the offices of the New York and California attorneys general, representing those states in trials, appeals, and administrative proceedings across a broad range of environmental law areas. Prior to that, he worked as an assistant regional counsel at U.S. EPA Region 9, bringing enforcement actions under CERCLA, RCRA, and the Clean Air Act. McCabe holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Yale University and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. He is based in NRDC’s New York office.
