Today is my first video blog from the global warming negotiations in Mexico where key steps need to be agreed. I’ll be doing a series of these throughout the two weeks, covering what happened during the day, where is progress occurring, and what is the final outcome of this session shaping up to look like.
In today’s video I cover the first day of the negotiations, which is mostly a scene setting day. I’ll discuss the mood going into this round of negotiations – how does it differ from one year ago when we were in Copenhagen. This blog will also cover the optimistic mood of negotiators on day one and what gives me a sense of optimism – that countries are taking action at home. After all, that is what we are ultimately trying to do in these global negotations -- encourage the change in all countries that leads the world down the path to solving global warming.
