NRDC Climate Storytelling Fellowship
April 2023
NRDC’s annual Climate Storytelling Fellowship, presented in partnership with the Black List, the Redford Center and the CAA Foundation, will open in April for submissions. The fellowship offers financial support and creative mentorship to writers to support the revision of a feature screenplay or pilot that engages with climate change in a meaningful way through events, actions, character, emotions, plot, and/or setting. EXPO CHICAGO

NRDC will participate for the 10th consecutive year in EXPO CHICAGO, the international contemporary and modern art exhibition. Our indoor and outdoor show will feature contemporary artists to inspire conversation about key environmental issues. The core exhibit will be complemented by additional events and programming—free to the public to ensure accessibility and inclusivity—to engage the EXPO CHICAGO audience as well as the greater Chicago community.

Hollywood Climate Summit

NRDC sponsors the annual Hollywood Climate Summit, an annual call to action of the entertainment and media community to address the climate emergency. Now in its fourth year, the summit will take place in person and virtually to inspire and activate young entertainment professionals about climate change and how to integrate climate storytelling into their work.

Night of Comedy
NRDC’s Night of Comedy—which helps to raise funds for the organization’s mission-critical work—returned in 2022, and for the first time, the event was hosted on both coasts.

The Big Picture: Representing Our Climate-Altered World On-Screen
NRDC, Black List founder Franklin Leonard, and writer, professor, and social commentator Roxane Gay spoke at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival about the opportunities and challenges of climate representation across genres.
