Kari Ross supports policy and advocacy work to help cities advance their climate goals through initiatives to lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the building and transportation sectors. Before joining NRDC, Ross worked for Sierra Club Illinois as a political organizer on the victorious 2018 midterm election campaign of an Illinois state representative. She also worked as a campaign organizer for Environment Texas, managing the group’s Methane Free UT campaign to reduce methane and other GHG emissions from oil and gas operations on University of Texas-owned land. Ross holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and global studies with concentrations in sustainability from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is based in NRDC's Chicago office.
