Katy Jacobs

Director, Entertainment Partnerships, Communications

Working across the entertainment industry, Katy Jacobs leverages pop culture and storytelling to elevate environmental issues and drive action. By developing strategic media and entertainment partnerships, her work aims to shift the cultural narrative around the climate crisis. Jacobs also leads priority initiatives for Rewrite the Future—NRDC’s program to help Hollywood tell more compelling stories about the climate crisis through industry dialogue, education, climate story consultation, and project development. She led NRDC’s inaugural Sundance Film Festival activation and in partnership with The Black List, CAA Foundation, and The Redford Center, developed and launched a first-of-its-kind climate screenwriting fellowship to support new storytellers addressing climate in their work. Prior to NRDC, Jacobs worked as a producer and impact consultant in documentary film. She also served as the Director of Public Programs, Festivals, and Exhibits at the Paley Center for Media where she produced the first PaleyFest NY in partnership with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment. She is based in NRDC’s New York office.
