Muhammed Patel

Transportation Advocate, Climate & Energy

Muhammed Patel is a member of the Clean Vehicles and Fuels team at NRDC, working closely with the Midwest Climate and Clean Energy team to advance policies, programs, and standards that help to decarbonize the transportation sector. Patel is responsible for engaging with state-level clean car and clean truck rules to equitably transition the Midwest to zero-emission vehicles, working on policies to accelerate EV charging infrastructure deployment in the Midwest, and advocating for programs to support the equitable transition to clean vehicles. Before NRDC, Patel received a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from Northwestern University and worked as a consultant for state and local governments on transportation policy including workforce development, program/project funding, and strategies for building equitable infrastructure. He is based in Chicago.
