Robert Vergara (he/him)

RAY Ocean Conservation Fellow, Nature Program

Robert Vergara is intimately familiar with the unique natural beauty of the California coastline and is driven to preserving it for generations to come. His background in ecological restoration complements his dedication to promoting equitable access to natural spaces for underrepresented groups and adaptively managing marine ecosystems in the face of threats such as ongoing climate change and ocean-crowding. Vergara holds a bachelor's degree in environmental science and management, with an emphasis on ecology, biodiversity, & conservation, and a minor in landscape restoration from the University of California, Davis. He is based in NRDC's San Francisco office.
