Simi Bhat

Senior Attorney

Simi Bhat has worked on cases involving national air quality standards, pollution performance standards, renewable fuel standards, toxic substances, pesticide regulation, clean water, and land remediation. She has argued cases in federal district and appeals courts across the country. Prior to joining NRDC, Bhat served as a senior attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. She studied environmental science and public policy at Harvard College and law at Yale Law School, where she was an editor of the Yale Law Journal. Bhat clerked for the Honorable Richard R. Clifton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is based in NRDC’s San Francisco office.
