Steve Fleischli

Steve Fleischli works to help communities obtain safer air and water through implementing rapid reductions in dangerous air pollution and securing an enforceable right to safe, sufficient, and affordable water. Prior to joining NRDC in 2010, he served as the executive director and later the president of Waterkeeper Alliance, an international organization that supports local watershed programs in more than 260 communities on six continents. Before that Fleischli served for four years at the Santa Monica Baykeeper in Los Angeles. He has also worked as a legal and policy analyst for the Heal the Bay organization and as an adjunct law professor at Pepperdine University School of Law. Fleischli holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is based in Santa Monica, California.
