Walton Shepherd
Virginia Policy Director, Climate & Clean Energy Program
Walton Shepherd focuses much of his advocacy on energy-efficiency policies and carbon pollution standards at the state level. Prior to joining NRDC, he worked in his native West Virginia on issues relating to energy efficiency and the economics of renewable energy. He has also worked as an English teacher and in book publishing. Shepherd holds a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College, an MBA from the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics, and a JD from the West Virginia College of Law. He is based in Washington, D.C.
