Dr. Yamit Lavi (she/her)

Senior Power Grid Engineer, Climate & Energy

Yamit Lavi focuses on expanding the transmission grid and accelerating clean energy deployment to support a decarbonized and reliable power system. Her work centers on regional and interregional transmission planning and wholesale electricity markets. Before joining NRDC, Lavi served at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind Energy Technologies Office and Grid Deployment Office, where she supported transmission planning and renewable energy integration. She previously worked as an operations engineer at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. Lavi holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a PhD in engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University. She is based in NRDC’s Washington, D.C., office.
