Staff Attorney, Environmental Justice, Healthy People & Thriving Communities Program
Anjali Waikar is working to expand NRDC’s environmental justice efforts in the Midwest region. She advocates and litigates on behalf of vulnerable communities that bear a disproportionate burden of environmental hazards. Prior to joining NRDC, she worked for a boutique Boston law firm that advised and represented nonprofits, charter schools, and social services and health care organizations. She also worked at the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts, where she focused on racial justice and immigrants’ rights and received an Equal Justice Works Fellowship. Waikar holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Wesleyan University and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. She is based in Chicago.
