Melissa Lin Perrella

In her role at NRDC, Melissa Lin Perrella represents communities that have been hardest hit by freight-related air pollution. As an expert on the health effects of diesel emissions and on reducing air pollution from ports and rail yards, she has litigated for enforcement of the National Environmental Policy Act and the California Environmental Quality Act, and to preserve landmark clean air programs against claims of federal preemption. She joined NRDC in 2004 after working as a general litigation associate at a law firm in Los Angeles. Lin Perrella is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and Georgetown University Law Center. She is based in Santa Monica.
