Victoria Rome

Victoria Rome directs state government affairs and legislative work to advance environmental and health protections for all Californians. She works with NRDC's experts and coalition partners to enact laws and policies that reduce exposure to toxic chemicals, cut pollution, advance equity, safeguard natural resources, and transition California to a clean energy economy. Rome previously worked for a foster youth advocacy organization and in the California State Capitol as a legislative aide to former Assembly Member Dion Aroner. She started her career in politics as a fellow with the Jesse Marvin Unruh Assembly Fellowship program, through which she advised members of the Human Services Committee. She holds a BA in political science from UCLA and an MA in international affairs from California State University, Sacramento. Rome also serves on the board of California Environmental Voters and is an appointed member to the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. She lives in El Cerrito and works out of NRDC’s San Francisco office.
