Flint residents: Have you given the city permission to replace your service line?
The city of Flint’s FAST Start program is inspecting water service lines at Flint homes. If your service line is made of lead or galvanized steel, the city will replace it with a copper pipe for free. Removing lead or galvanized steel pipes will protect the health of you and your family. To get a free service line replacement, you need to give the city permission to inspect your service line. The city plans to finish the FAST Start program by November 30, 2020, so it’s important to give the city permission to replace your service line for free as soon as possible.
Look up your address below to make sure the city has your permission to inspect and replace your service line.
City records show that, at some homes, no one has responded to the city’s requests to inspect their service line or the resident declined a pipe replacement. Check your address now! To find out if you still need to give the city permission to inspect and replace your service line, type your address in the box below, or call NRDC at 312-995-5906.
