NRDC.ORG NOMINATED FOR BEST CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS/NON-PROFIT CATEGORY FOR THE NINTH ANNUAL WEBBY AWARDS

NRDC.org on the Shortlist for Top International Honor for Websites

New York (April 19, 2005) -- The Webby Awards, the leading international honor for websites, has nominated NRDC.org for the Best Charitable Organizations/Non-Profit website of 2005. NRDC.org is the website of The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a nonprofit environmental advocacy group. The site, which is produced by NRDC's web department, was designed and developed by Sullivan, a New York City-based firm. Winners will be announced on May 3, 2005 and honored at The Ninth Annual Webby Awards in New York City on June 6th.

Hailed as the "online Oscars" by Time Magazine, The Webby Awards are determined by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization with a membership that includes musician David Bowie, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, The Body Shop president Anita Roddick, "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening, Real Networks CEO Rob Glaser and fashion designer Max Azria.

"The Webby Awards honors the outstanding websites that are setting the standards for the internet," said Tiffany Shlain, creative director and founder of The Webby Awards. "NRDC.org's Webby Award nomination is a testament to the skill, ingenuity and vision of its creators."

As a nominee for a Webby Award, NRDC.org is also eligible to win a People's Voice Award. Voting is open to the public from April 12th to April 29th at http://pv.webbyawards.com/. Registration is required.

The Ninth Annual Webby Awards received a record number of entries from over 40 countries and all 50 states.

Founded in 1996, The Webby Awards is known worldwide for its famous five-words-or-less acceptance speeches.
