Trump Shouldn’t Try to Slip Through Controversial Changes

WASHINGTON – President Trump issued an executive order today seeking to streamline the executive branch.

The following is a statement by David Goldston, government affairs director of the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“How our government is organized can have an enormous and direct impact on our health and well-being – both good and bad. In the past, some leaders have tried to rearrange how the government is organized as a way to slip through fundamental and durable changes that they know would be too controversial to approach head-on. So we will review the detailed proposals very, very closely.”
