Trump Nominates Another Industry Lobbyist as Secretary of Interior

WASHINGTON – President Trump today nominated acting Secretary David Bernhardt as the next Secretary of the Interior.

The following is a statement from Ana Unruh Cohen, managing director for government affairs for the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“Bernhardt might as well be an ideological clone of Ryan Zinke.  The American public deserves a true steward who will protect our lands, our wildlife and our waters – not another industry shill who will continue to sell our precious natural resources to the highest bidders for exploitation.  We will hold David Bernhardt accountable and block any efforts to put our natural heritage at risk.”
