Trump Administration Moves to Gut Forestry Safeguards

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Forest Service is proposing revisions to National Environmental Policy Act regulations that would undercut key protections for forests.

The following is a statement from Kabir Green, federal affairs director at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC):

“Once again, the Trump administration is abandoning protections for our treasured natural resources, as it moves to end safeguards ensuring that the public has a say before our forests are logged.

“Providing a rubber stamp to the logging industry is no way to manage our national forests.”
