GOP Leadership Has No Plan for Climate Action

WASHINGTON – The Senate is voting on the Green New Deal resolution proposed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Ma.) to combat climate change.

The following is a statement by John Bowman, managing director of government affairs for the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“Congratulations, Mitch McConnell -- you’ve succeeded in highlighting the GOP leadership’s abject lack of a plan to limit the carbon pollution that’s driving the planetary crisis. Thank goodness most Americans know we must take urgent, decisive action to combat dangerous climate change - - and so many cities and states across the country already are.”
