Gov. Wolf’s Unprecedented Executive Order Puts Climate and Clean Energy on Front-Burner

Harrisburg, P.A. – Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf today announced an unprecedented executive order that puts climate change on the front-burner and protects the health of Pennsylvanians. For the first time in Keystone State history, the Executive Order will set statewide targets to slash greenhouse gas emissions and establishes a formidable agenda to expand clean energy and create clean energy jobs in Pennsylvania.

Jackson Morris, Director, Eastern Region, Climate & Clean Energy Program, at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), made the following statement:

“On the heels of joining a groundbreaking initiative to curb transportation-related emissions, Governor Wolf is yet again taking up the mantle of leadership to fight climate change. His bold agenda is the first in state history to slash greenhouse gas emissions and align with the Paris Agreement, capture new clean energy growth in electric vehicles and put Pennsylvanians to work while leading the way forward for a clean energy future. This is a victory for climate leadership and Pennsylvania is showing the nation how it’s done.”
