New Jersey Rejoining RGGI Another Decisive Move Against Climate Change

WASHINGTON – New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy today ordered his state to rejoin the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the multi-state compact to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that former Gov. Chris Christie pulled out of six years ago.

The following is a statement from Dale Bryk, chief planning and implementation officer at the Natural Resources Defense Council.

“This is what climate leadership looks like. New Jersey’s welcome move to rejoin RGGI is another confirmation that states and cities across America are joining together to fight climate change and speed the transition to cleaner energy. It’s great news for New Jersey and our country.”
