New Spending Bill Repudiates Trump’s Dangerous Agenda

WASHINGTON – Congressional leaders have agreed to a $1.3 trillion spending bill that will keep the federal government open through September.

The following is a statement from Scott Slesinger, legislative director of the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“Cooler heads seem to be prevailing — at long last. We welcome this bipartisan repudiation of the draconian spending cuts sought by President Trump. It rejects many further attacks on our health and the environment, including most legislative ‘riders’.’’
