NRDC President: Congress Should Investigate and Trump Should Fire EPA’s Pruitt

WASHINGTON – Weekend revelations about Scott Pruitt and his sweetheart condo deal arranged in connection with the wife of a fossil fuel lobbyist are raising new questions about Pruitt’s tenure as administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Rhea Suh, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council, has called for Pruitt to be fired, here.

Today she made the following statement:

“A $43,000 phone booth? Luxury travel and military jets? A sweetheart condo deal cooked up with the wife of a fossil fuel lobbyist? We need a congressional investigation to tell us whether Scott Pruitt is breaking ethical laws, lacks judgment or simply feels entitled to waste taxpayer money and share a bed with the very industries he’s paid to regulate.

“We’ve seen more than enough, though, to know he’s putting polluter profits first - and putting the rest of us at risk.

“Pruitt has taken the environment out of the Environmental Protection Agency and the public out of public service. It’s time to take him out of office. It’s time to fire Scott Pruitt.”
