NRDC’s Gina McCarthy: Clean Economy Act to Jumpstart Climate Action

WASHINGTON  – Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE) and a third of the Senate today introduced the Clean Economy Act, which would sharply reduce climate-altering greenhouse gas emissions, and promote American competitiveness, healthy communities and a growing economy.

“The challenges ahead are daunting—but we can overcome them. This bill will help jumpstart a breakthrough on climate action. It will cut dangerous carbon pollution and steer us toward cleaner, smarter energy sources—sending a message that the Senate backs a strong national response to a global threat.
