Tax Plan Would Gut Support for Public Health and Environmental Safeguards

WASHINGTON – President Trump and congressional Republicans released an outline of a tax reform proposal today that would cut tax rates for corporations and upper income Americans.

The following is a statement from Scott Slesinger, legislative director at the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“This tax plan will only benefit the wealthy—individuals and corporations. If enacted, it would strip funding for critical programs that protect public health, promote clean energy and safeguard our environment, and leave crucial infrastructure improvements unmet. It should be dead on arrival.”
