Trump Administration Should Can Its Offshore Drilling Plan

WASHINGTON – Interior Secretary David Bernhardt told the Wall Street Journal the Trump administration’s plan for federal offshore oil and gas leasing is on hold indefinitely. He says the delay is the result of a recent federal court ruling in a lawsuit brought by NRDC and partners overturning President Trump’s attempt to open up areas of the Arctic and Atlantic oceans that are protected.

The following is a statement from Alexandra Adams, legislative director for the Nature Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“President Trump’s wildly unpopular and risky offshore drilling plan needs to be more than sidelined. It should be deep-sixed permanently.”
