White House Announces Modernized Leasing Rule To Support Green Energy Development

WASHINGTON  — The Biden Administration announced a new rule that reforms public land leasing to assist in the expansion of green energy production while protecting delicate ecosystems and communities.  

Following is a statement from Bobby McEnaney, Director of Lands Conservation at NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council):   

“This marks a pivotal shift towards fairness and efficiency in harnessing solar and wind resources on public lands. This adjustment will provide renewable energy development with several of the benefits afforded to oil and gas sectors. This rule is a significant stride toward environmentally responsible renewable energy development, balancing progress with planet care.”
