WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House approved its version of the 2026 Farm Bill today that would roll back environmental safeguards and programs that help farmers lower their energy bills and invest in affordable, reliable clean energy.

“Today’s vote does not change what this bill is: a proposal that fails to deliver for farmers, rural communities, and working families.
“At a time of rising costs and growing climate pressures, this legislation cuts conservation investments, weakens bedrock environmental safeguards, and undermines programs that help farmers and rural small businesses save money.
“Despite the removal of provisions protecting pesticide manufacturers and a small number of Democrats voting yes, this is still a far cry from a bipartisan bill.
“The Senate now has an opportunity to bring farmers, conservation, environmental, nutrition, and labor stakeholders back to the table and rebuild the broad coalition the House majority left behind.”
