WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Trump issued an executive order directing his administration on how to implement the recently passed budget bill.
The following is a comment from Kit Kennedy, managing director for power at NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council):
“Whatever promises the White House may have made when twisting the arms of some House Republicans, the Treasury Department has a duty to administer the law fairly, in a way that provides certainty to the businesses relying on these tax credits. Businesses need clear rules and a fair playing field.
“Federal permitting guidelines for clean energy must be clear and efficient to allow the United States to meet the growing electricity demand that our economy depends on.
“The administration must follow the law as it is written, not as a few stray lawmakers wish it had been written. If it acts unlawfully, our lawyers are ready.”
