The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has canceled federal protections for endangered whales, dolphins, and sea turtles. Scrapping the Obama-era proposal will now lessen restrictions on how many whales and turtles can be killed or seriously injured by the fishing industry’s use of gillnets. After an already calamitous week in which Trump's Interior Secretary ordered a review of habitat protections for the endangered sage grouse, America's wildlife is under a full-fledged assault by land, sea, and air.
