Casey Roberts (she/her)

Casey Roberts oversees NRDC’s work at regional transmission organizations across the country and in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proceedings, promoting wholesale market rules that minimize costs while ensuring market access for resources essential to a decarbonized power system. Her work also focuses on promoting robust transmission planning, efficient interconnection procedures, and improving the reliability of the electric grid. Prior to her current role at NRDC, Roberts worked for 14 years as an attorney at the Sierra Club on a range of federal and state environmental and utility regulatory matters, including advocacy at FERC, state public utility commissions, and in federal courts. Before she joined Sierra Club in 2011, she was a fellow at NRDC and Altshuler Berzon LLP. Roberts received a bachelor's degree in biology and public policy from Rice University and a JD from the University of California, Berkeley. Following law school, she clerked for Judge James Parker in the District of New Mexico and Judge Diana Murphy on the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is based in NRDC's Chicago office.
