Chakena D. Sims (she/her)
Senior Policy Advocate, Environmental Health
Chakena D. Sims is responsible for assisting in the development of cross-programmatic strategies, partnerships, and advocacy efforts to ensure water is safe, sufficient, and affordable from source to tap. She is particularly interested in expanding the nation's water workforce to create jobs, promote economic growth, and fix our aging infrastructure. Prior to joining NRDC, she served as commissioner at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Sims holds a bachelor's degree in history from Connecticut College and a master's in public policy from the University of Chicago. She's a proud born-and-raised Chicagoan.
