Patrick King II

Policy Director, Georgia, Climate & Energy

Patrick King II leads NRDC’s climate and energy work in Georgia, focusing on transitioning the region’s economy to clean energy while addressing environmental and energy inequities. His work centers on advancing ambitious, effective policies through deep partnerships and movement building, particularly in the power, transportation, building, and industrial sectors. King joined NRDC in 2023 as the southeast mobility choices advocate, where he led efforts to expand low-carbon, equitable transportation options across the Southeast—particularly in Georgia and North Carolina—by building coalitions and seizing policy opportunities at the state and local levels. Prior to NRDC, King served as the electric transportation equity manager at the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. In that role, he organized and advocated for equitable mobility policies across the Southeast, led outreach to environmental justice and equity-focused organizations, and played a key role in a grassroots campaign urging North Carolina to adopt the Advanced Clean Truck regulation. King holds a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University and a master of public administration from Tennessee State University. He is based in Atlanta, GA.
