Resist Trump: March for Climate Justice
On Donald Trump’s first full day in office, he was met with unprecedented resistance as hundreds of thousands rose up for the Women’s March. On day 100, exactly one month from today, we will be back in the streets of DC and across the country for the Peoples Climate March.
Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to waging war against communities, from targeting Muslims through executive orders, to walking back protections for transgender people, to yesterday, beginning to dismantle the Clean Power Plan. As he continues to launch his all-out assault on people across the country, and around the world, we’re bringing our resistance to his front door.
In one month, we’re going to tell a different story than the climate chaos Trump and his cabinet are pushing. Our vision is one in which the needs of workers and communities are put first in the shift away from dangerous fossil fuels. We will rise up for justice and opportunity for all people, regardless of their race, color, creed, gender identity, or immigration status.
On April 29th, we will take to the streets to demonstrate our power and resolve in defense of our loved ones, and in solidarity with the frontline of resistance to climate injustice. We will march for the well-being of present and future generations. And we will surround the White House to show that people power trumps all.
The Peoples Climate March is our next opportunity to join with our allies to demonstrate that when you come after communities on the frontlines, you have to answer to all of us.
Together, we will resist. We will build. And, we will rise.
