Sam F. Savitz (he/him)

Senior Carbon Management Specialist, Climate & Energy

Sam F. Savitz provides technology and policy expertise across NRDC’s portfolio of work on responsible carbon dioxide removal (CDR). Prior to joining NRDC, he worked at the Energy Futures Initiative (EFI) Foundation, a nonpartisan climate and energy think tank, contributing to projects on CDR and carbon management, federal climate legislation, low-carbon fuels, nuclear waste, and climate justice. He led EFI’s analysis team for the Hydrogen Demand Initiative, a coalition tasked with designing a first-of-its-kind clean hydrogen program for the U.S. Department of Energy. Savitz holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University, where he studied global affairs with focuses on the Middle East and North Africa region and gender equity. He is based in NRDC’s San Francisco office.
