Californians Will Get to Vote on Conservation Measures in 2018 Election

SACRAMENTO — The California Senate today passed SB 5, which will give Californians a chance to vote for funding for parks, open space, urban forestry and water conservation on the 2018 ballot.

Following is a statement from Ann Notthoff, director of California advocacy for the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“Californians overwhelmingly support protecting the beautiful, irreplaceable spaces that make our state great. As funding for these places shrinks, it’s critical that we ensure these places are protected and maintained so all Californians can enjoy access to state parks and urban green spaces. We’ll get the opportunity to do that this fall when funding measures are put on the 2018 ballot.”
