Trump’s Infrastructure Plan Fails the Nation’s 21st Century Needs

WASHINGTON - The White House unveiled President Trump’s infrastructure plan this weekend, one that falls woefully short of providing the critical upgrades our nation needs and sacrifices critical environmental protections.

The following is a statement by Shelley Poticha, managing director of the Healthy People & Thriving Communities Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“President Trump’s infrastructure proposal is a disaster. It fails to offer the investment needed to bring our country into the 21st century. Even worse, his plan includes an unacceptable corporate giveaway by truncating environmental reviews. That would leave local residents all-but voiceless when it comes to the massive projects that will reshape their communities. We will fight to protect our future and oppose any effort to undercut these bedrock protections."
