Deese Instrumental in Delivering Critical Climate Action

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Brian Deese is stepping down as director of the White House National Economic Council, President Biden has announced.

Christy Goldfuss, chief policy impact officer with NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) made the following statement:

“Brian Deese worked brilliantly and tirelessly to advance President Biden’s vision for connecting effective climate action to a more promising economic future that delivers for all of us. Deese was key to enacting the Inflation Reduction Act, the largest climate and clean energy investment in the nation’s history. It’s working.

“Since Biden took office, the nation has added a breathtaking 14 million jobs; driving down unemployment to its lowest level since 1969. The climate and clean energy investment Deese was instrumental in helping to deliver is an important reason why. We can all be grateful for his service, and we wish him well going forward.”
