Defend Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from Trump’s Oil & Gas Giveaway

WASHINGTON -- A pending House budget bill contains a back-door way to expand oil and gas drilling and fracking across federal lands and waters, including the long-protected Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, in line with earlier proposals by President Trump.

Natural Resources Defense Council President Rhea Suh made the following statement:

“Trump and his polluter allies are playing budget games to hide their dirty fuels giveaway. Public lands and waters are a public trust, set aside so future generations might know the natural splendor of this country. That’s a promise we’ve made to our children. It’s a promise we’re going to keep.

“This land belongs to you and me. We won’t let Trump, or anyone else, turn our natural heritage into an industrial wasteland for the sake of oil and gas profits.”
