Laura Daniel-Davis the Right Pick for Interior Post

WASHINGTON — The Biden administration has named Laura Daniel-Davis acting deputy secretary of the Department of the Interior.

Christy Goldfuss, Chief Policy Impact Officer with NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), made the following statement:

“There could not be a more qualified candidate for this critical role in this pivotal moment. In three decades of public service, she has worked to strengthen the political, economic, community and Tribal consensus at the heart of our national commitment to responsible stewardship. Decisions made at Interior in the coming year will have lasting impact on the future of our public waters, lands, wildlife and all they support.

“The choices we make now will go a long way toward determining whether federal ocean waters and public lands are part of the climate fix or part of the problem; whether our natural inheritance is protected or ravaged; and whether the debt we owe to Indigenous people is honored or betrayed. The nation can count on Laura Daniel-Davis for the judgment and vision to get it right.”
