New Carbon Reduction Goals by China, U.S. Are a Critical Step Forward

WASHINGTON (November 11, 2014) -- China and the Unites States tonight announced new targets for carbon pollution reductions. The following is a statement from Frances Beinecke, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“These landmark commitments to curtail carbon pollution are a necessary, critical step forward in the global fight against climate change. We look forward to working with both governments to strengthen their efforts--because we are confident that both can achieve even greater reductions.”
