Senate Should Bury House Plan to Lock in Fossil Fuels

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The House passed H.R. 1. on Thursday.

Christy Goldfuss, chief policy impact officer with the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), made the following statement:

“This bill is a mess. It’s a plan to gut needed safeguards, dim the voices of vulnerable communities, and lock in decades more dependence on fossil fuels just as the nation is investing in cleaner ways to power our future.

“The Senate should bury this fossil fuels giveaway. Then both houses should work together on ways to phase out fossil fuels and support the clean energy investment that’s driving innovation, making the country more energy secure, and creating jobs in red states and blue.”
