NRDC Is Ready to Defend Environmental Progress

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President-elect Donald Trump and his Project 2025 agenda have laid out a dangerous agenda to roll back protections for public health, natural resources, and the climate. If those actions violate the law, NRDC is ready to fight back in the courts.

Following is a statement of Michael Wall, chief litigation officer at NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council)

“The Trump campaign and Project 2025 have laid out a radical agenda that would harm people’s health and pocketbooks, while delivering for the oil barons who funded that campaign. NRDC has been preparing for this possibility for months, and our lawyers and advocates are ready to fight any illegal actions and defend the progress made over the past four years.

"Presidents still must follow the law - when they write rules and standards and when they try to weaken or repeal them. Lawsuits are one way to enforce our laws. 

“NRDC filed its first lawsuit against an illegal environmental rollback by the first Trump administration on February 2, 2017, and continued to fight that administration's illegal actions in the courts throughout Trump’s tenure. On average, we sued once every ten days for four years, and we won victories in nearly 90% of the resolved cases. Our lawyers and advocates will be defending clean air, clean water, and a safe environment once again.”
