Intolerable Risk: Pesticides in Our Children's Food

This is the summary from a 1989 study which analyzed the potential harm -- cancer risk and neurotoxicity -- to American children during the first 6 years of life from exposure to 23 agrichemicals found in common fruits and vegetables, and considered the adequacy of the pesticide regulatory system to protect them. NRDC's report represents the first detailed analysis of children's exposure to pesticides in food and a determination of the potential hazard that these residues pose to children.
