Dr. Julee Boan

Partnerships Director, Global Northern Forests, International

Julee Boan works collaboratively with Indigenous Peoples and organizations; local and national conservation groups; and industry, investors, and governments to halt and reverse forest degradation in the Global North, primarily through the advancement of Indigenous-led land management strategies. She has a PhD in forest sciences, where she researched forestry practices to mitigate the impacts of industrial logging on boreal caribou. Boan is committed to supporting Indigenous rights to self-determination, Indigenous-led protection, stewardship, and land management approaches, as well as supporting land back initiatives. She is based in Ontario, Canada.
