Forest Advocate, Nature

Renee Albrecht works to advance NRDC’s forest priorities for the benefit of people, biodiversity, and the climate. She works with a range of stakeholders, including local groups and policymakers, to protect forests and communities from the harmful impacts of bioenergy by advocating against subsidies and expansion of the forest biomass industry. Prior to joining NRDC, Albrecht worked with World Wildlife Fund in Washington, D.C., to promote sustainable food and freshwater systems through policy and advocacy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music and biology from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a master’s degree in environmental science and management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Albrecht is based in the Chicago office.
